After spending per week teasing a brand new album on their social media platforms, Vampire Weekend has revealed all the small print. Solely God Was Above Us will probably be launched April 5 via Columbia and is the follow-up to 2019’s chart-topping Father of the Bride.
Impressed by twentieth century New York, it was recorded within the Large Apple, Los Angeles, Tokyo and London and was produced by Vampire Weekend’s Ezra Koenig and longtime collaborator Ariel Rechtstaid.

The primary style of recent music will arrive subsequent week within the type of the songs “Gen-X Cops” and “Capricorn.” Koenig is alleged to have been engaged on the lyrics since 2019, and spent the following four-plus years “refining, remodeling and step by step shaping these lyrical and melodic constructions to take Vampire Weekend to a brand new artistic peak,” per an announcement.
After the album’s launch, Vampire Weekend will carry out on April 8 on the Moody Heart in Austin, Tx., to mark the entire eclipse. Tickets for this present go on sale on Feb. 13 at 10 a.m. CT. Click here for extra data.
